SEAN COLLINS

Sean Collins, a multi-faceted musician renowned for his dexterity on the bass guitar, is a dynamic presence in the music scene. Born and raised in San Diego, Sean’s musical journey began at a young age, nurtured by his musically inclined parents. His childhood was filled with melodies and rhythms, leading him to discover his true calling at the age of 12 when he joined a garage band. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of his lifelong love affair with the bass guitar.

Sean’s passion for music led him to the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he honed his skills and deepened his understanding of music. His style, a unique blend of rock, blues, funk and jazz, is heavily influenced by the likes of Mike Gordon, Phil Lesh, and Les Claypool, as well as jazz legends Ray Brown and Ron Carter. This eclectic mix of influences is evident in his ability to infuse jazz and funk bass lines into every band he plays with, creating a signature sound that’s distinctly his own.

After returning to San Diego from Boston, Sean’s career flourished. He’s a core member of local bands The Naked I and Doah’s Daydream, and he also rocks stages with a Vegas-based 90’s cover event band. His talent has graced multiple EPs for The Naked I, and he has headlined at renowned venues like The Belly Up. Sean’s versatility shone through in his performances at the San Diego Bayfest Concert alongside prominent artists like Cage the Elephant and Zac Brown Band, and in the high-energy Rock and Roll Marathon. Not confined to just band performances, Sean also showcases his talents in musical theater orchestras, adding a theatrical flair to his repertoire.
